Autumn Activities

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Hope you've had a good start into the week. It's Sandy here, posting on behalf of Tina. This week we are bringing you a quite unusual, but we hope, interesting theme. This week it's all about Autumn Activities out in the Nature. In Scandinavia, early September is when the yearly moose hunt starts, and for several weeks now people have been out in the nature, picking berries and mushrooms.

Scandinavians are well known for their love of nature and desire to spend as much time as possible out in the great Outdoors. This is something we are taught from a very early age. In Sweden, where I grew up, there's an organization that arranges special courses for young children where they get to spend time out in the nature, learn about it and play. As they put it: Nature is the World's Best Playground!

Here's a photo from when I was about 6 or 7 and had just received my diploma at this course called  "Skogsmulle". I'm the girl in the top row in the yellow coat and the "Skogsmulle", the phantasy figure who taught us about animals, plants, the different seasons etc. is the guy in green with the funny hat. :-)

Back to the scrapbooking world; this week's theme is "Hunting & Picking Berries/Mushrooms", and I'm sure we'll get to see some interesting interpretations of this theme by the different DT members.

At this point, I'd like to take the opportunity to give you a sneak peek of a couple of papers that I should have in stock by the end of this week or early next week.
Cloudberries
Magic Mushrooms
These papers are from a Swedish company by the name of "Landstoken". They've been producing scrapbooking papers for several years, however their papers are not known outside of Sweden, so I'm delighted to be one of the first international retailers, supplying these wonderful papers.

Now over to Tina's project:
This time Tina created a charming Vintage Tag with both berries and mushrooms.
The following materials from the Live & Love Crafts Store have been used:
"Little Sweeties", Grandma's Attic, Pion Design
"Rose Frame", From My Heart II, Pion Design
Organza Roses Trim, Maya Road
Sprig, Melissa Frances
Pearl String, Reprint

Many thanks for looking.

Sandy, the school my kids attend are starting to bring this approach in, they call is forest school, I went along on one trip as they needed an extra adult and the teacher explained the theory about it-she was very enthusiastic.
    Aren't you a little cutie,
