New/Old DT Members...

Good Morning,

Sandy here bright and early.

As you might have seen/heard I did a DT Call, which ran for 2 weeks and closed this past Saturday.
I thought it was only the third one in the now almost 4year history of LLC's existance, but yesterday I double-checked and it turned out it's actually the 4th one.

I'm very fortunate to have had/and still have designers who have stuck with me for a long time, some for more than 3 years, believe it or not!

It's always sad when someone leaves the team, especially when they've been on the team for a very long time. That was certainly the case when Becky left around Christmas last year; Becky had applied in my very first DT Call in June 2012 and had been on the team ever since.

You might wonder why I'm telling all this...well I wanted to give you some background as one of the new DT Members is an old one, namely Becky :-)
I was thrilled to learn that she was back to colouring & cardmaking after her break from blogging and overjoyed when she expressed her interest to re-join the LLC Design Team.

Becky, who is and has been a huge fan of Maja Design papers (I think that may be why she applied for the very first DT Call) has evolved tremendously as a crafter and colourist during the years she's been with LLC, and she knows the store and the products inside out.
I know that many readers of this blog are also very fond of Becky's work, and will agree with me that it's great to have her back!

Becky is currently designing for Mo Manning, Saturated Canary and Magnolia.

Now; many of you will know that I'm Swedish and throughout LLC's history most of the time there has always been a Scandinavian on the Design Team.

That hasn't been the case for some time, so I'm very pleased to announce that the other new (and this time it's a really a new DT member ;-)) is from Norway.

I've always admired the Norwegian scrappers and cardmakers; they are extremely talented vintage designers and many trends and influences in crafting derive from Norway.

Therefore I'm sooooo excited to welcome Cathrine Sandvik to the LLC Team.

You'll probably have come across Cathrine's work before.
She is designing for Pion Design, Stempelglede, the Scandinavian scrapping magazine Ett Tryck as well as Norwegian Papirdesign.

DT Call (yes you read that right!!! :-))

Hello Crafters,

It's been almost 2 years since the last DT Call, and there haven't been many during the 4 year history of the Live & Love Crafts store, simply because DT Members tend to want to stay on the team, and unlike many others, I see no reason for regularly exchanging my design team members.

But now the rare opportunity to join the Live & Love Crafts Design Team has arisen!
There are two positions available, with start date ASAP/ May, 1st.

This DT Call will stay open until Saturday, April, 30th, 12PM/NOON (GMT).

So if you love everything vintage & shabby chic, and these are the kind of products you reach for when crafting....

...then I'd love to hear from you!

Live & Love Crafts, which opened up in June 2012 is the ORIGINAL craft store catering for crafters devoted to vintage & shabby chic crafts. It’s a well-established store that has carried the best vintage brands and products ever since opening, and has continued to expand its product portfolio and kept up with crafting trends. Brands we stock are; Maja Design, Pion Design, Melissa Frances, Prima Flowers Marketing, Wild Orchid Crafts, Sagen Vintage Design, Wycinanka, Stempelglede, and Ranger.

 WHO CAN APPLY?
* The DT Call is open to crafters worldwide.
*   Stampers / Scrappers / Scrapbookers
It doesn't matter if your preference is to colour images, to scrap vintage images, to create LOs or to alter items, as long as you love to work with papers, you are welcome to apply.

REQUIREMENTS

* You should be an active blogger and regularly post new inspiring projects to your blog, and be prepared to link back to the Live & Love Crafts' store website for the products used, as well as willing to promote the store on any social media sites you're active on.

*You must be able to take good clear shots of your cards/projects.

* Ideally you’re not affiliated with any other craft retail store in the UK, and if you are, it mustn’t be a store carries the same brands as Live & Love Crafts. Apart from this, you can be on how many different challenge teams/ vendor teams as you like to, just as long as you feel you have the time.

 * The Live & Love Crafts Design Team communicates through a Facebook group, so you’ll need to have a Facebook account.

* You should be able to commit to a 7 months term, starting May, 1st, this year.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU
* Blog one project/week with mainly products from Live & Love Crafts (this can be combined with other DT work) Post your project on your own blog, as well as the Store Blog. Create an inlinkz collection with the materials you have used from the store. (Do not worry if you're not familiar with Inlinkz; it's very easy to use and full instructions will be provided.)

* Create one project/ month specifically for the Live & Love Crafts' Challenge (1st of every month)

*Leave comments on challenge participants' blogs according to a commenting rota

* "Virtual socialising" with the other team members in the DT Facebook Group

I know from experience that it can feel daunting to apply for a DT position and for that very reason I'm not asking you to advertise that you have applied on your blog or to link up underneath this post.

One of the LLC DT Members will be stepping down from the team at the end of May, so I'm on the look out for a new member who can start June, 1st and can commit to a 6-month term.

New DT Members

Hi Everyone,
Sandy here to make the announcement of the two new LLC DT Members.

As some of you might recall, we've had a DT Call running for 3 weeks. It closed Wednesday last week and ever since I've been busy trying to make my choices. I do apologize that it's taken me this long to make an announcement, but it was not until yesterday morning that I had finally made up my mind and I wanted to inform the applicants who unfortunately did not make it prior to announcing the new members here on the blog.

For the two available positions, I receieved 29 applications, actually 30 as I got another one last night.  I'm sure you can appreciate how very difficult it's been for me to choose only two new members. I've had to disappoint 28 talented crafters, some of which are good friends of mine, and for that I'm truly sorry. There are so many different things to consider when selecting new DT members, and though I'm not going to bore you with the details, I'll just say that the decision I've made is based upon what I think is best for the store. I hope you will agree with me and help me welcoming our two new members:

Tracy Payne from the UK and Louise Fraenell from Sweden!!!
Congratulations and welcome ladies! I'm super excited to have you on the team.

Tracy and Louise are joining us as new DT Members next year, so their first projects for LLC you'll see on January, 1st when our new challenge kicks off. If you're not already familiar with these two ladies' fab work, I encourage you to already now pop over to their blogs and check out their beautiful and very inspirational creations.

WANTED: 2 New DT Members

For next year, I'm looking to expand the Live & Love Crafts Design Team with one more member, so that we all together will be seven. This DT Call is for two positions though as one of the current members will be stepping down at the beginning of January, when the 6 months term is up.

As this time of the year for most of us, is a very hectic period with Christmas shopping and all kinds of preparations, I thought I'd give you plenty of time, so this DT Call will stay open until December, 12th 8 PM GMT.

Announcing the new two DT Members

Good Morning Everyone,
It's time to announce the new two Live & Love Crafts' Design Team Members. This is a post I've been dreading to write. On the one hand I'm very excited to have two new creative members on the team, but on the other hand I do know that it is disappointing news for those of you who applied and didn't make it this time. I say this time, because as we all know, Design Team members they come and go; we move around between different challenge, retail- and vendor Design Teams, so there will be more chances opening up in the future.

I want to thank everyone who applied; I was stunned by the great interest and the many talented vintage scrappers that are out there. It's been extremely difficult for me to make a decision as the standard of all the applicants was so high. However; a decision had to be made and I do believe that the following two girls will do a wonderful job of inspiring us all.
