Sentiment card

Hi Everyone,
Sandy here on a Monday.
I bet you're wondering where Tracy is?!
Tracy is currently on vacation, and since it is Summer, I thought the DT should have some time off to enjoy the season. Therefore we're on a Summer schedule now and will only post every 2-3 day here on the blog. Tomorrow though the whole team will be present as we're bringing you a brand new challenge.
I will of course not reveal what the theme is, but I'll tell you this much; it's a perfect Summer Theme! :-)

For this whole coming month the theme will be "Anything Goes", so that the DT have free hands to create what they want. Myself for a long time now I've been drooling over the beautiful cards and projects created with the Stempelglede stamps, so yesterday when some time crafting time opened up, I knew exactly what I wanted to play with....

I have a friend who has just quit her job after having been with the same company for 14 years, so I found the ideal sentiment on the "Follow your Heart" sheet:
I've used papers from three different Maja Design collections on this card, but the prominent piece with the heart pattern is "Let's share a cookie" from the latest collection, "Coffee in the Arbour".

In the middle part, I've used the shabby chic Lace "Amélie", and on the bottom the brand new gorgeous crocheted pearl lace.
I placed the sentiment on a piece of brown corrugated paper, which I embossed with "Shabby White".
Then there are lots of flowers...on the left hand side from Wild Orchid Crafts: roses, one lily, one carnation and some frosted berries. On the left hand side from Kort og Godt: white hortensias and two pretty pink curly roses.

Everyone who knows me knows that I have somewhat of an obsession with heart embellishments, LOL.
The Shabby Wood Heart Buttons are new arrivals, as is the Bling Heart.
Of course I went for the shabby style; the beautiful shabby chic brads from Graphic 45 were covered in gesso, as were all the flowers. I also painted the cheese cloth and here & there on the card with gesso.

Here's a close up of the beautiful heart charm with a butterfly in it:

This is what the inside looks like:
As you can see, the text strips are clearly inspired by former DT Member Elin. The sentiment stamped onto the Melissa Frances Lace Paper Doily is from Tim Holtz and the postmark stamps from Magnolia.

Hope you like my shabby sentiment card - thanks for stopping by.
Don't forget to visit again tomorrow. The challenge goes live at 10 AM UK Time. See ya' then!
Hugz from Sandy

  5. LOVE this card Sandy! Gorgeous papers and I've never thought to use corrugated cardboard in this way. It looks brilliant! Such a gorgeous card for your lovely friend, which I'm sure will mean the world to her at this time of change. It's given me ideas too, as one of my darling pals is just about to have a job change. So thanks for the inspiration! Puss och kram, Wends x
