Rock A-Bye Baby

Hi Everyone,

Since I made the pram project my head has been racing with what I would love to create next with the new PionDesign Sweet Baby collection and with a lot of work, yes a lot of work, I've finally put it all together and I am delighted with how it has turned out, just as I pictured it in my head.

Oh, before I can show it to you I have to tell you what this week's theme is..... "Happy Whateva".  So I'm sure you'll be getting an assortment of inspiration from the team this week but I'm going with "Happy BIRTH day".

As so many of you asked for a tutorial on the pram, with this in mind I have videoed the making of this project,  but as I write this I have been working on this project 11 hours solid today and the video needs editing and PDF's doing, so as soon as it is ready I will let you know.

This is actually quite a big box, lol, but I really wanted to create a nursery and spent most of last week trying to get the Marianne Design Window die, which arrived Saturday morning, just in the nick of time.

I have used 4 of the new PionDesign Sweet Baby Papers in total, let me tell you they are beautiful; Forget Me Not in Blue 12x12, Images 12x12, Cut Out 12x12 and some little butterflies from Weekday Prophecies 6x6.

I have used some satin material which luckily my local fabric shop allows you buy just 10cmand added Lace Alexandra Empress on top, and it is the most beautiful lace and absolutely perfect for a vintage crib, and yes it does rock.

I also wanted to create a vintage shabby chic set of drawers and I think I achieved it, lol.  I used vintage brads for the door handles and hung the little love hanger from the drawer.  I added some flowers and the metal frame, a little gesso and some mirri card to the centre to make it look like a mirror, and a little butterfly cut from the paper.Oh and nearly forgot, the feet were made using the little mini spools, oh Sandy is going to kill me, lol.

So pleased with how this turned out, lots of paint and gesso :)

And here is a picture of the crib, drawers outside of the box with a tag also created from the image sheet.  You'll also notice that I cut the baby out of the paper too and placed him in the crib.  The crib is also lined with paper.

A seam binding bow was placed at the top and I added a Maya Road Vintage Pearl Finding to the top.  Just perfect.

I added paper to the back of the accetate box so it looks like wallpaper.  I also added a Marianne Design window CR1259 and a little butterfly.  I cut out the pair of baby boy's feet, again from the PionDesign Sweet Baby paper and added a Melissa Frances Resin Frame and a little clock to the right.

The floor looks like a wooden floor and was cut from Maya Design Vintage Summer Basics 1905.

I made a little cot mobile and have hung 3 charms from it, ABC, dummy and little bottle.

The crib is decorated with Melissa Frances White Satin Trim and  Pearl Trim.  I used a Marianne Design Die  called Passe Partout Rectangle for the fluted edging around the crib.

Here's a picture of the lid of the box adorned with beautiful flowers consisting of, foam flowers, flower spray, large rose buds, carnations, magnolia berries, blue wild roses, baby buds, 10mm roses.  Now I need to re-stock, lol.

A close up of the little mobile with an added incy wincy tiny butterfly again cut from the paper.
