Altered Vintage Clock

Helloooooo Everyone,

I am soooooo uber excited to share my project with you today.  I love 3D projects and I think this one just has to be my favourite so far.  The clock is a station clock and is actually double sided.

The theme this week is "Numbers" and just perfect for my clock................

I painted over the metalwork with white gesso and  added some aged rose frantage.  You may recognise the paper on the inside of the clock as being MayaDesign Autumn Basics  II.  I used the fabulous Mini Roman Numerals that Sandy has in store which really enhanced the dimension, even the paper couldn't have been a better match with the little clock on the left.

The image is called Puppy Love by Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.  I added some flower spray, rose buds, 30mm wild rose in dusky pink, hortesanias, cheese cloth and a prima embellishment.  I also added leaves using the Marianne Design Swirl Leaves die.

Did you notice the lace beads ion the inside.  I airbrushed  them with my copic marker E43 to make them cream and stuck them to the inside perimeter of the clock.

On the top you will notice the flower arrangement, this time including a beaded berry and cascading down the right hand side some 2mm string pearls and also the 3mm and 5mm cream string pearls.  You can also see on the top left a PionDesign butterfly from the Studio of Memories cut out sheet and finished with a range pen nib.

All the way around the outside of the clock I have used the cream tulle, so shabby and perfect for my clock.  The sentiment stuck to the metal framework was pretty apt, "A Time Forever Etched in our hearts and memories", sums up time and a clock pretty well I think.  This was cut from the MayaDesign Autumn Vintage Basics XX sheet.

On the top right you will also see a little prima trinket with the word inspire.  Sandy doesn't have this exact one in store but you might want to check out the ones she does have HERE. Always worth having in your stash as they come in handy for that little extra something.

The cogs that I added next to the numbers II and III have been coated in white picket fence crackle paint.

I really hope I have inspired you to do something different.

Have a good week.

Hugs Tracy

Free as the bird

This week we are giving Spring a warm welcome, and what greater way to celebrate the gorgeous bird singing that makes us all notice the change of season?!!!

I have dug deeeeeep into my LLC box (and believe me, that box is filled with yummyness) to find a image to match this week's theme: Birds!
At the bottom I found an old Riddersholm Design Image and it was just perfect for my card:

"Free as the bird" with papers from Pion Design's "Flower Frame" collection. I have tested to scrap with a few more layers than I normally do, using Kraft behind the colored papers. I think the tone on the paperbag and the birdcage was a perfect match to my "earthy" card.
I found this bird's nest charm in my box too! Gave it a brush of gesso, along with the flowers and the rest of my card. The birdcage is from Maya Road, and I used distress ink on it before I applied some gesso to it.

Hope you all are getting a hint of Spring these days, and if not... it's just around the corner, I'm sure ;)

Hugs & Kisses

Birds and Goodbyes

Hello my crafty friends!  I'm soooooo very sad to say this is my last card for Live and Love Crafts.  Unfortunately, due to some family circumstances, my spare time is needed elsewhere but that's ok.  It's for a very good reason.

This week we were inspired by BIRDS, so I was relieved to find a MF resin piece still in my stash. Woo hoo!  I used Pion's "A Day In May" paper collection and even cut out the tiny butterflies from it as well.  So cute!

I covered the chipboard piece with a Tim Holtz paint dauber, rock candy and some gold Shimmer Spritz.  Don't the flowers and butterflies just pop off that chipboard?  I just love it!

This "Queen of Sheba" lace is gorgeous!!  I know I've said it before but it's so true!  It deserves such a big spot on a card and I hate to cover it so I tried to be careful.  LOL!  The big flower is from Prima and the Wild Orchid ones I bought from LLC.  OH and I have to point out these gorgeous metal corners - aren't they pretty?!

There you have it!  I want to thank Sandra and the girls at LLC for everything.   They have been such a pleasure to work with and one of my most favorite teams!  Thank you for introducing me to the wonderful world of vintage.  I was surprised and happy to find that I had it in me.

Have a great weekend everyone!!
