Confirmation Card for a Girl

Is it Thursday again???? Where did this week go?
It's my day here at LLC, and this week I'm sharing a Confirmation Card for a Girl with you.
This one was a bit of a challenge, since the girl who will be receiving this card doesn't like flowers or pink/purple!
I mean COMMON!! Who doesn't like that???
Thanks to this weeks' theme here at LLC, which is pearls, I solved this challenge like this:

The card base is as always a paperbag, white this time. I have used papers from Maja Design...as if that came as a shock to you? Haha... can never get enough of Vintage Summer Basic!
A white cardboard has found its way under my picture, as some word-stripes in Norwegian saying: Congratulations! You are unique. Confirmation. Anno 2013

Isn't she lovely?! I absolutely love these digis, and of course the image sheets from Pion Design as well!
Even though I enjoy colouring every now and then, and I really admire my fellow DT girls skills when it comes to colouring, I will always be a "Vintage Image" girl.

Here are some closeups, and notice the lovely pearls from Melissa Frances:

As always, it's my pleasure to bring some inspiration to our lovely readers.
I would also like to say thank you to every single one of you that leave us such nice comments.
It can be hard to comment back on all of them, but they mean the world to us <3

Tilda With Big Tulip Pot

Happy Wednesday everyone, Becky here today with my pearl inspirational card.

I've coloured Tilda With Big Tulip Pot and coloured her with my Distress Markers. I've used more of the gorgeous new Alma's Sewing Room from Pion and distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz distressing tool.

For my pearls I've used Melissa Frances pearl brads. and I've also added some white Melissa Frances pearls to the white organza rose trim, added one to the Kort og Godt rolled rose, and a few more of the smaller ones in the top corner.

The roses are from my stash, the purple tinsel Dahlia is from Magnolia, and there's also some gorgeous lilac poppies.

I was originally going to have a bigger piece of card with Tilda on so I painted some chalk clouds, and sprayed a shine to set the chalk and then when I got to my papers something else took over so there's now only a hint of clouds.

Hugs,

Becky x

A Pearl for Your Eyes...

Good Morning Everyone,
It's Sandy here posting Tina's inspirational project for this week.
You might recall from yesterday's post that this week's theme is "pearls"....
...are you now looking for the pearls on this tag?
Well, the pearl is right there, in front of your eyes. Don't you see it???

The image sheet from the Alma collection has so many beautiful images, but if you ask me, this little girl is the pearl. The correct expression might be diamond, but hey since our weekly theme is pearls, let's refer to her as "the pearl", ok?! :-) Isn't she adoooooorable?!!!

Here's a close up of the flower display, where you get a better look at the gorgeous new flowersprays:
...and hanging down from the display is one of the new bottle caps from Landstoken.
Allow me to quote DT Member Tracy "They are the prettiest bottle caps I have seen"!

Here's another look at it, together with some further details:

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Tilda With Wooden Spoon

Morning,

Tracy here and the start of a new theme at Live and Love Crafts and another favourite of mine, "Pearls". My mojo went walkabouts this week so this card has taken me almost a week to complete  I kept going back to it and not liking what I had done and I eventually ended up with more or less my original layout, grrrr. I have used PionDesigns Cornflower 6 x 6 and I didn't want to cover up the cornflowers at the bottom left and also wanted to keep the frame so I haven't layered up as much as I would normally but I think I like the result.  I created the base of the card using MayaDesign Vintage Summer 1935.

I have painted Tilda with Distress Inks and edged all the layers with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I have used the new White Flower Sprays again with the Magnolia Berries and Kort and Godt Rolled Flowers and Chrysanthemums and added some gorgeous Pearl String, love these.

I also introduced some Frantage Shabby Blue Embossing powder to the Butterfly and here's a close up so you can really see how fabulous this embossing powder is.  It has a hint of blue, white and gold and looks gorgeous in real life.  Sandy should be listing a few colours imminently, so keep checking the store. A word of warning though if you decide to emboss metal, make sure you leave it to cool down before handling as it gets very hot.

I also decorated the inside and gave the floral ovals the Shabby Blue embossing treatment, love the effect.

I have also used the little teapot charm, hanging from the bark heart, and a little calendar ticket cut from the PionDesign Cornflower 6x6 Paper.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Happiness is...

...being allowed to sit by mom's sewing machine.

Hi everybody, this is Louise. This week we have all been playing with the new beyond beautiful Pion Design papers "Alma´s sewing room". That would be happiness for me ;) lol!

Every once in a while I create an LO and place it on a deep edge canvas frame and I thought I had the perfect match to these papers. On the picture is my oldest daughter Signe, she is five and a half and probably wishes she could go bananas in my craft room a lot more than I allow her to ;) lol!
Her favorite device to work is by far my sewing machine. I took this photo of her some weeks ago and immediately thought of it for this occasion.

I'm so sorry about the lousy first picture, I'm aware it is very blurry. I have had some camera issues lately. It works just fine when I take more close up pictures like the ones beneath but as I want to capture the whole creation I always struggle. It's like its to much??
I will have to go buy myself a new camera today. After that I will update this post with my new picture.

Sandy has a lot of items in store atm that is what seems to be perfect matches to these papers. I used one of the adorable metal adornments called vintage dress form clips and I love the effect on my photo.

As always I have listed all the products Ive used from the LLC store at the end of this post via Inlinkz.

I hope you like my lo :) Thanks for looking!
Lots of love xXx

Count the Hearts...

Hi everyone,
It's Sandy here and look I'm posting relatively early today...LOL
I'm usually too busy during the week to work on my Saturday project, hence why I most of the time post late in the afternoon/early evening.

Today I'd like to start off this post by sharing with you some of the new products that have just arrived at the store. First we have the gorgeous Flower Sprays:
Yes, I shall admit that they're a wee bit messy; these are dried flowers so some heads tend to fall off, though there are plenty of them and they're sooooooo pretty!

Secondly, please take a look at these adorable shabby chic miniature angels, appprox. 3cm in height:

These cute Clay Hearts have also just been added to the website:

These are just some of the new decorations; there are also quite a few new trims and laces (and more are on their way! :-)) so if you haven't visited the store for a while, it'll be worth popping over and checking out all the New Goodies here.

Now over to my card...
This week's it's Almas Week, and as I've already told you how much I ♥ this collection multiple times,  I'm not going to nag about it again... :-)
I'll say though that I love the fact that the purple papers can be combined both with pink and lilac (purple). For the two previous cards I made, I used pink, but today I've gone with lilac.

The image I've used is "Canary Love" from Saturated Canary, and I found a ticket on the Cut Out Sheet that I thought would go brilliantly with this image:
How many hearts can you find on my card? LOL
Yes, I know that Valentine's was last week. Thing is though, I was just going to use some of the new hearts on my card, and then everything evolved from there... :-)

Both the card shape, the heart frame and the background square have been cut out with my Cameo.
Here are some close up pics, so you get a better look at the new hearts and the flower sprays.
The seam binding is "English Lavender". The lilac poppies were toned down a bit with Gesso, which was also applied to the bird cage charm. I coloured the cheese cloth with a Copic marker, and also the Maya Road mini heart pins...and then they were exposed to a bit of Gesso treatment... :-) I think that's it.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the weekend!
Hugz,
Sandy

Alma´s Gift Box

Hi Everyone,
Karita here with you, as usually on Fridays :)

So we have "Alma´s Sewing Room" week going on here at the LLC blog
and finally I got the chance to play with these gorgeous papers :)
I made a little gift box and it was so difficult to choose the right papers. I hope I made the right choice.
I chose the "Purple Room 12x12" and used both size.
Here you can see the beautiful "Measure border" and few buttons painted with white gesso.
And here is my pride and joy, the newly arrived gorgeous glass pebble with a beautiful butterfly underneath it. Sorry about the bad picture; I´ve tried to take several pictures but since we don´t have so much daylight yet, it was a bit difficult to get a decent picture.
More beautiful borders and take a look at those beautiful poppies - I love them :)

Thanks for stopping by :)
I´m wishing you all a lovely weekend :)
Hugs, Karita

Paperbag Card with Alma.

Gooooood Moooorning good people!
I'm back, and of course I have got some inspiration with me: Alma's Week <3
Yes; we do love the last collection from Pion Design: Almas Sewing Room. And let me tell you, it was a true pain to wait for the package with these gorgeous papers...it seems as it took forever for them to get from the UK to Norway. But when they finally landed in my postbox, they were worth the wait!
I've been in a bit of a pitch lately when it comes to crafting. As my teamates tend to say: My mojo has been missing. But Alma's kickstarted my creativity again, and my card for this week is made on a paperbag base. I had to make one of these, inspired by our past DT member Elizabeth.
Just look at this fancy inside:

A smart pocket to keep a tea-bag or two, or maybe you want to add a bill and use it as a gift card? And I got a comment from my friend today on the fact that I got a vintage looking teabag. Indeed I do, and they come in all sorts of colours, LOL!
Some details to finish this post off, and below you can find the links to the materials I have used.
Thank you for your time.

Pion By Becky

Hi everyone, Becky here, sorry I'm slightly late today but the last two days have ran away with me, it's half term and I've got two little kiddies.

I've got two friends turning 30 this month, but I need to make 5 cards for them, so here is one of them. I've used the gorgeous Alma's Sewing Room papers from Pion Design, unusually for me there is no distressing of any sort, it was hard enough to cut into them, let alone distress them. My original card I had in my head had more layers, but when I came to assemble the card I couldn't cover the pattern in the top left, so to make it a bit different I used a strip from the border sheet and put it along the bottom.

I've used a Tim Holtz On The Edge die to shape the card, and I've just got a Picot Edge Spellbinders set. The lilac pearls are so pretty, and along with the lace are new in.

The roses are from my stash, the rolled rose and the chrysanthemum are from Kort og Godt, the Dahlia Tinsel and the Berries are from Magnolia and Sandy has just got the purple poppies in.

Hugs,

Becky xx

More Almas by Tina

Good Morning Everyone,
Sandy here with Tina's Inspirational Card for this week's theme "Alma's Sewing Room".
It's an amazingly beautiful collection, so if you haven't seen it yet, I'd suggest you pop over to the LLC Store and check it out ASAP. I got restocks delivered yesterday, so now all sheets are available again. :-)

As Easter is coming upon us, I've also ordered this pretty sheet with Easter & Spring Vintage Images

...as well as "Newly Hatched"

Both are from Pion Design's Fairytale of Spring collection 12x12.

Now let's get back to Alma's and Tina's card!

The image is from Pion Design's sheet "Girls" from the tinted Grandma's Attic Collection.
The papers Tina has used are the beautiful "Blue Rose" and "Blue Room".
The ticket and the paper spool cut outs are from the "Cut Out Sheet" - you'll find all products links at the bottom of this post.

Maya Road's mini sewing spools are like made for Alma's...
...as are Maya Road's dress form clips!
Here's a close up picture of the beautiful metal corner from Landstoken...

...and in this picture you get another good look at the embossing:
Tina has used "Stampendous Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel" - expected in stock by the end of this week/beginning of next week.

Thanks for stopping by.
