For Mother's Day

Hey hey heeey ;o)
It's Thursday, my turn to bring you some inspiration and we're closing in on Mother's Day...
On the second Sunday in February we are celebrating our beloved mums here in Norway, and this year the day has fallen on the 10th of February.

I have decorated a cup for my mum along with a card. Since Sandra has filled up her store with gorgeous charms lately, what better way to show them off then with two projects?!!!
For details on what materials I have used, please check the thumbnail pictures on the bottom of this post.

First up is my card, and I'm warning you already; this will be a picture-heavy post. :-)
My card-base is as always a paperbag, decorated with lovely Pion Design papers this time.
I had to get the clock die from Marianne Design, and it's being used on almost every project these days...
Roses and butterflies are never wrong, and this adorable Heart with wings charm is yummy!
And I love these bark hearts too!
And now over to the cup...
In Norway we call this "Termokopp" which in practice means that it keeps warm drinks warm and cold drinks cold. I found this idea and cup trough a Norwegian blogger and had to try it!

It came with a recipe or a template on how large one should make the innerpiece, which is between the glass and the cup. Before I put it in, it looked like this:
Since the space is rather small I tried to keep it as thin as possible.
But I had to squeeze in this lovely charm:
Other than that, it is recommendable to keep it as flat as possible. I used a couple of butterflies which I covered with loads of glitter:
Have you seen enough pictures now? :-)
Hehe.. It was a fun project though, so you might get to see more cups from me in the future.
And now on to the lovely list of products!
Thank you for stopping by today, and please come back for another charming project tomorrow.

Hugs & Kisses
Elin

Tilda With Little Pocket

Hi everyone, Becky here today with my card with one of the new charms that Sandy has in store.

Keep checking as every time I look there seems to be more and more, luckily it's just been payday so I can treat myself to some more crafty bits and bobs. I've stamped Tilda With Little Pocket with a light ink, but using a cotton bud I used black ink for her eyes, eyebrows and freckles, and then coloured her in with Distress Markers and Refils.

The papers are from Maja Designs Shall We Have Coffee Collection, I love these browns and really don't use them enough. I have distressed the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink and layered them up. There is Camille Lace and Chocolate Gingham Ribbon, and I've added one of the new charms, Angel Glory, to this ribbon. The roses are from my stash, the rolled roses and chrysanthemums are from Kort og Godt with stickles to make them sparkle. On Tilda's flowers the sparkle is from Glamour Dust with some liquid pearls on too.

Come back tomorrow when the lovely Elin has a project to share with you.

Hugs,

Becky

Another Birthday Calendar by DT Member Tina

Hello Everyone,
Sandy here with DT Member Tina's inspiration project for this week.
Our theme this week is charms/ metal decorations.
If you are a regular reader of this blog, you know that a couple of weeks ago I had over 120 different new charms and metal decorations delivered. I'm pleased to announce that now pretty much all of them, apart from a few nautical/pirate themed charms, have been added to the website!

And for today's project, a vintage birthday calendar, Tina has used her favourite metal decoration, the gorgeous Vintage Photo Frame:

The metal corner Tina painted white, but I've just had some in "Antique White" and "White" delivered, that I'll be adding to the website today or tomorrow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hope to see you again tomorrow, when DT Member Becky is sharing her project.

Hugs from
Tina & Sandy

Funky Boots

Morning,

Hope you all had a great weekend. Tracy here and the theme for us LLC girls this week is "Charms".
Sandy has listed loads, and I mean loads of new charms.  I'm sure the girls have got some fab projects up their sleeves for you this week so be sure to keep checking in.  I chose to use the flower boot, it's so funky and with my Daughter's 21st looming I thought it would go well with these Make It Crafty City Girl images.

I masked the girls onto Stamping Linen. It takes a bit of getting used to as it's harder to blend the colours. I'm also suffering with my right arm, according to the Nurse I have RSI, Repetitive strain injury.  It's really painful so I haven't crafted as much this week.  If it doesn't improve in 10 days I may have to wear a splint and I'm sure that won't be any good for colouring :(

I cut the Marianne Design clock out and added some little pompom trim, so cute.

And here's the charm, well it's quite large for a charm, but isn't it funky? Of course I added some Gesso.

Thanks for popping by.  Click on the pictures below to take you direct to the products in store and be sure to check by tomorrow when Tina will be sharing her fabulous charming project.

Hugs Tracy x

Made to Order (CASE Karita)

Hi Everyone,
Sandy here with my non square card. Sorry that I'm posting so late today; I stayed up late last night and worked on listing the new charms onto the website, and today it took a while until I got in to a scrapping mood. Anywho; this is what I have made:

This is a birthday card for a friend's mum, who's turning 70 on the very same day as my dad. I haven't made a card for him yet... Me & male cards, well they aren't my favourite thing exactly... :-)

This card on the other hand though, was one of the easiest ones I've made in a long time. Didn't have to put any thinking into it; my Cameo took care of the shape, and a a couple of weeks ago when my friend was over, she picked out the image, the paper, the embellishments and later she e-mailed me the sentiment, so all I needed to do was to make them fit on the card. :-)

Initially though it was far from easy for my friend to decide and I showed her loads of samples of the DT's work here on the blog, but instantly when she saw Karita's card for this month's LLC challenge she knew what she wanted. Hence; this card is a CASE (copy and selective edit) of Karita's card.

Here are some close ups of the shabby details; added loads of Gesso (did I get that right, Karita?!), there's shabby seam binding (Storm Clouds), and a shabby bark heart. The numbers on the bark heart are from Maja Design's Die Cut sheet (thanks for the inspiration, Tracy).

I just hope my friend's mum likes shabby...otherwise I'll be in trouble! LOL

The sentiment "L'Amour de ma vie" (the love of my life) I printed out on the backside of the paper I used on the card, "Ornament" from Pion Design’s  "Studio of Memories" collection. I’ve always loved this collection, and Pion's new collection, “Alma’s Sewing Room” reminds me a lot of Studio of Memories in both colours and patterns, so I’m certain I’ll love it as well!

Alma’s Sewing Room is expected in stock beginning of next week.

For the above card I used a sepia image from the sheet "Ladies" from Pion Design's "From Grandma's Attic". I'll also be stocking Pion's tinted vintage images "From Grandma's Attic Tinted":

Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy your weekend!

Hugz,
Sandy

For a Friend

Hi Everyone,
Karita here with you today, as usually on Fridays :)

This week's theme is "Non Square" so I made a regular A6 size card.
And no stamped or vintage image this time :)
I used papers from Pion Design's "For Mother" and "Grandma´s School Book" collections.
And can you believe it... no sewing either ;)
I also used just a few embellishments... like berries, the gorgeous bark heart, a wooden butterfly, some lace, a piece of pearl string, cheese cloth, shabby seam binding and a sweet cherub.. So nothing much ;)
The Finnish text says: For a Friend :)

Thank you for your visit and have a lovely weekend everyone! :)
Hugs, Karita

Birthday Card

Hello everyone.
Today is the day when Elin does the stuff she has never done before... My very first Maggy coloured with distress re-inkers! You didn't know I like to colour did you? ;) Well, I do.
I have a short history with Promarkers, a bit longer history with Prismacolour Premier Pencils and now the DT girls have inspired me to try colouring with Distress.

This week we are going "non square" as you might have noticed. Here is my card; its a birthday card for my little girl that is about to hit the big 5. So therefore: PINK PINK PINK, and some sparkles ;)
I can never get enough of Maja Design's Vintage Summer Basics. And even though I'm a "vintage-photo" girl, there are a few Magnolia stamps in my collection. For decorations I have used lovely flowers from Kort og Godt, and some hugsnug. I've also used tulle pleat trim around the oval frame, and the cute pearl string frames the image perfectly in my eyes.
Here is a close-up of my first attempt with Distress Reinkers, and as you can see I still got a long way to go! The shadows ain't my strongest side, but I'm learning as I go :)
A closeup of these gorgeous Rolled Roses ain't wrong, they are soooo cute. I've added Melissa Frances pearls in the center of them and in the end I added a whole lot of Star Dust to the card.
On the picture below you can take a peek at the inside too :)
Thank you for stopping by, and keep coming back will you?!!!
Please also take a look at the list of products I have used from Sandra's lovely shop, I'm sure you'll find something you like.

With Love,
Elin

Sneezing Tilda

Morning everyone, hope you are all OK? Living practically in the sea I am managing to escape nearly all of the snow, but once I go round one corner there is some snow and it keeps getting deeper the further away you go, but it is still cold and with the biting North Wind howling down the street, brrr, so as it's cold and 'flu season I thought Sneezing Tilda would be perfect for my anything but a square project.

I've used a Go Kreate die for my card, the papers are from Maja Designs Vintage Summer Collection, the edges have been distressed with Walnut Stain ink.

I forgot how much I like green, lol. I've coloured Tilda in with distress markers and added sparkle with stickles. The roses are from my stash, I've also added Kort og Godt white rolled roses and white chrysanthemums and a White Magnolia Shabby Chic Tulle Rose, there are also some Melissa Frances Pearls. Sandy has got some lovely new trims and lace in, she has also shown us what she is going to stock, they are gorgeous, I've used some of the new White Cluny Lace With Threaded Ribbon and some of my favourite White Organza Roses Trim.

Click on the following pictures and it will take you to the items in the store.

Hugs,

Becky x

Vintage Calendar

Hi Everyone,

Brrrrrrrr. A very cold Tracy here.  It's blooming freezing and the snow just fell out of the sky all day yesterday, adding to what was already there, so I am certainly not looking forward to driving to work this morning.

The team this week start a new theme and it is "Anything but Square".  After seeing so many beautiful calendars in blogland and having never made one before I thought I would challenge myself.  I already had a woodware clipbaord which I bought sometime back, so this was my starting point.

I'm loving the colour combo of blue and cream at the moment, but blue is believe it or not my favourite colour, soo gorgeous and perfect for vintage.

Lots of piccies, and the links to the products used are all listed at the bottom of the page.

Here's a close up of the image which is by Pion Desigs and you can clearly see the gorgeous LLC lace with dalmante's, isn't it beautiful and even more so IRL.

The string pearls cascading down the right hand side.

Here you can see the crackle paint doing it's stuff and the gorgeous vintage brad on the top left and the the cute little love hanger and a semi circle of the lovely lace doilies.

Here you can see the Family light bulb, just awesome and the gorgeous arrangement of fours all coated in white gesso and one of the new charms, clock with swallow.  Have you checked out all the new charms at the LLC store, wow.

Another floral arrangement with a wooden butterfly coated in distress crackle paint and a Tim Holtz nib added to the centre.

I look forward to reading your comments as always and thanks for popping by.

Hugs Tracy x

Especially for you

Good morning and welcome LLC lovers!

It's me, Louise, and I can't wait to show you my make. It's a good thing to have been assigned the Sundays. That way I can drool over all the gorge creations my talanted teamies have created all week and being exited to show you mine ;)

As you know by now monochromatic is the theme for this week and my word..as I heard that I nearly choked..just like Tracy I have never created anything of the sort before. But a good challenge is the best  thing really, I have had so much fun playing!
I decided to go with black and  make a gift set: (Ops...its pretty picture heavy, hope you will bear with me till the end ;))

Valentines is soon right around the corner and I must say I rarely make cards like that to send to my friends because usually I'm still exhausted from the chrissy cards ;) However, I always make something special for my mum and dad and my mum's fav color is black so it wasn't a hard decision. The gift set contains a heart box where I will place a little something for them and of course a matching card. I cut both box and card with my silhouette Cameo. Easy peasy! I also chose to work with one of my fav Magnolia images. I treasure her so much! She was part of a Christmas release about two years ago but she is so versatile, don't you think? Now I'd like to share some more pictures with you and I will also let you know you will find all the lovely products I used last in this post using InLinkz. Just click the picture and it takes you right to that very product in the LLC store.

Thank you so much for checking in with us today.
                                                              Lots of Love!!!
